This beautiful painting was completed, photographed, edited and ready to list weeks ago. I just realized that I had not yet listed it on any of my sites. How much time may have past before I began wondering why it wasn't selling and then realizing why?! Lol. yep, don't think it would have gotten sold that way.
Trying something new here. I began this blog back in 2008 as I was beginning my new career as an artist. Kinda fun to go back now and then to seeing all the changes. Through all these years I've never really settled on exactly what I wanted to do with a blog. Should it be more personal? or perhaps more business like? or it could be used for teaching? or a combination of all these. And so, I did all these things. In the beginning, I posted every day to presently more like once a week.
Now, here I am with yet one more change. But, it isn't as if it hasn't been done before. Guess I'm beginning to cycle through the various seasons of change. So, what now? well...i've now decided to post prices and offer a way to purchase the loved painting through PayPal on this blog. For me, it makes it one more site that I have to remember to go back to and mark as sold preventing the possibility of a single work being sold twice.
Bottom line though, it's really more about the paintings and not about any thing that i have to say. Matisse once said, 'let the paintings speak for themselves' and I believe this to be true.
Those that looking for art for their home or business may not know a lot about art, but they will know what they love when they see it. And isn't that what it's all about.

This one was a collaboration between grand-daughter/grandma. We began it together with me painting while Penelope sprayed with water. As you can imagine, lots and lots of runs! She titled it. I decided to keep the title, but later took the painting on past that first stage. Every painting has a story.

.....fiesta!! Having grown up in a hispanic culture where every occasion or event was a reason to have a fiesta, this painting celebrates color with RED.
We have a collection of bottles that we have been buying and saving, pretty much because we just liked the shapes and colors. I had set these bottles up on a studio table with the intention of painting a still life. Well....I later decided to scratch that idea and just began rolling the paint out on this canvas. I was simply working on the design of the painting when I began to see a few bottles emerging and went with it. It took some time to find them all. Stepping away or leaving and coming back tends to give a fresh perspective.
"ooh that is really RED.." ya that is what Don said when he walked in on me as I was in the midst of having such a great time with all this. It always just kinda sort of annoys me when he does this- it's like when someone says " that is really in..te...res..ting" when they don't quite know how to tell you they don't like it. Anyway, I ignored the remark and continued on...
Good thing, because just as I got it finished the opportunity for it to be on display presented itself. Tomorrow it will be at the "Go Red Luncheon" for the American Heart Associations annual fund raiser at the Oasis Convention Center in Springfield with nearly 600 participants.
Funny how things work out...the Creator at work again!!
....i'm back! Well, ya I guess I ended up taking off more than just the day. Yes, it's been a long wonderful weekend! ...and I'm all refreshed with new ideas ready to get back to work---tomorrow. Also, just how do you follow a blog like the last one??? Well..... with Passion!
This painting I am posting is one of the most recent ones. It was actually painted after having completed a commissioned piece. By accident I had all three of these paintings in close proximity to each other in my studio when I noticed the consistency between them. This was exciting to me because I believe it shows my own individual style emerging. The other two that could be included would be Italia and Night Life.
Can you tell? To the left you can see one of the two panels of "Better Two" (a commissioned piece I will post more later), Passion on the easel, and Indian Summer underneath. Exciting!!
