These three little gems were commissioned as thank you presents to three staff members of "The Pink Agenda", which is a fund raiser organization for breast cancer research.  The paintings were to be matted and framed.  The request was that they be similar to some of my larger abstracts with hidden pink ribbons.....  can you find them?!
The title "Gramercy" means thank you.

Love for you to visit my web gallery by clicking here you will be there!

accent with pink.

Acrylic on 4" x 6" watercolor paper.

Ready to frame.

SOLD

More pink.  I have had with several commissions been asked not to use ANY pink in a painting. Understandable when purchasing a painting for the home.  Men tend to shy away from it being a girlie color.  As an artist, I love the effect that pink has, works well with so many colors and especially fond of it as an accent color. It speaks!

Mini Abstract

A good time to begin posting my new mini abstract series.  There are thirteen of them so far.  For the most part they were painted in pairs and so would complement being hung next to each other.  Of course, I wouldn't stop anyone from purchasing the whole collection for a wall display!  Hard to believe, but these little ones can be just as difficult and time consuming as a large abstract. I'm pricing them at $50…fair price as they would need to be matted/framed.  The title will be a date.

I haven't got it all worked out yet, but would eventually like to offer them matted and ready to pop into any standard 8" x 10" frame.  Also, would like the title written in pencil on the bottom left and artist's name on the right. (top example)  With this first batch of thirteen only the first two are like this.  So, for now they are being sold without matts to keep them consistent. The first two could always have this bottom edge covered with a matt in order to match the rest of them.  Here is what I need to work out:

1.  By taping off the extra space when I begin for title/name I am determining which way the piece will be displayed before it's painted.  Not good for me as many times I find a stronger side when rotating the image.

2.  This could be resolved by having paper edges that go all the way around the painting and are visible  through the matt.

3. Or, perhaps I should scratch the whole paper edge thing and have them matted up to the painting's edge and initialed them MEC just like I do my large abstracts.

Available from the new mini abstract category: HERE

If you've read about the matt here on my blog and like it…let me know and will ship this painting out with the matt.

LIGHT...

Another mini abstract to brighten up a special wall space! Next up to post is a large abstract (36" x 36") that I have been working on this weekend and will put the finishing touches on in the morning. The 24" x 24" canvases are in and can't wait to get back to that size, as well as finish up a floral abstract.  Yay, sounds like an artful time coming up!!

"Mini" Abstract Painting, 'Flash' ORIGINAL Contemporary 8" x 8" x 3/4" by Elizabeth Chapman

'Flash'
Acrylic on 8" x 8" x 3/4" gallery wrap canvas
Ready to hang!
$50.00

Lots of surface texture....I am up early this morning working on small abstract paintings.  In all honesty these little ones are more difficult than they appear.  You would think..."small...that couldn't take too long."  I don't totally understand it,  but for me it does seem much easier to work on a larger space.  I do believe it is a good exercise to work in various sizes.  It also gives the person who is not able to purchase a larger work the opportunity to buy a smaller work.  They can speak volumes in a small space or be collected and displayed on a wall.

Interested in this one or any of the other 'mini' abstracts email me: elizabethchapman@artlover.com
