Modern Expressionistic Abstract Painting "Festive" by Elizabeth Chapman

Festive
Acrylic on 40" x 40" gallery wrap canvas

Available

I started another large painting yesterday with a great start, but not anywhere to that point of knowing "this is good".  So, it was added to the collection of five uncompleted paintings. Lol. Seems to be the rhythm of it lately.  This one that I am posting today, is finished! I thought it would be a good one to post given the colors of the season and the title.  I have listed this one on my website  and no where else yet. Planning on it being a 2016 painting..ssh. Oh, and I've been working on a large (49" x 59") floral abstract painting. Sharing soon!

May your holidays be festive and filled with joy!

The title "Gramercy" means thank you.

narrowest street.....

Kissing Street
Acrylic on 24" x 24" x 1.5" wrap canvas

SOLD

Now and then a city scape type of painting will occur.  I was just playing with the shapes and lines in order to pull this painting together.  Not being sure that I liked it all, I left it alone for awhile.  When I came back, I saw it. It's one of those scenes you might see in an Italian type city.  Imagine yourself walking through a narrow street with buildings on both sides.  The windows are open, there are clotheslines hanging outside, a cool breeze in the air...it's a busy day.

After having given this description to my husband, he immediately found the title.  The narrowest street in Italy is called the "Kissing Street"... This scene really does exist!!

This painting is in my web gallery: HERE

Brightly colored.... with lots of surface texture!  What more could you ask for on this first day of spring than... color!  Here in the Ozarks they are telling us that there is a possible winter storm coming in tomorrow.  That is the white that you see in the painting... Just kidding and no, I don't really think it's going to happen.  Remember, I'm from the "Show Me" state.  Color is in, I hear.  This would add the perfect balance to a living space with a lot of neutral colors, translate that as a bold statement.  Need something to brighten your day?  Here it is!
