slow cooking...

Exact
Mixed Media on 16"W x 15.5"H watercolor paper
Ready to frame

I've had this one setting on the back burner, so to speak.  Adding layers, this and that from time to time for the last several weeks.  Decided with the addition of the large circle that it was done this morning and photographed it to post/list.  I have another large 30" x 40" painting on the easel that I've been yearning to get back to work on.  Thursdays/Fridays are reserved grand daughter time and I had a few extra days this week as she was sick.  We played and played and played some more! So sweet when she wakes up and the first thing she says is "grandma will you play with me?" ....of course.

So, shifting gears now...back into artist mode and hope to spend the next 3-4 days in the studio, painting, painting and painting some more!  The painting that is setting on the easel should be ready for your enjoyment, soon!

impressions....

'Impress'

Acrylic on 24" x 24" x 1.5" wrap canvas

Available for purchase from my Web Gallery

To be honest,  it was another popular painting of mine "Caress" that became the inspiration for this one.   Keeping it light and pastellish is something that I have to keep in mind, as you might imagine once you've seen my colorful abstract paintings.  This is  a softer color palette with more of a minimalist composition  that I would  definitely like to continue to explore in the future.

a work in progress....

Untitled
Acrylic on 36" x 36" canvas

I am posting this one as it is the latest painting that I have been working on, but it is unfinished.  The last thing that I did was to darken the upper right hand corner, giving it the contrast I felt it needed.  Thought I was done, but having given it a day or so of perspective, I decided I wasn't quite happy with that corner.  I think the dark works, but would like to enrich it. My intent now is to work with   matching it up more to the colors that are in the dark strip to the way left side.  Only problem, I ran out of the Azo Yellow I was using so this one will have to wait until my order of paints comes in.  In the meantime, if your interested in this one OR if you have any suggestions for a title, I would love to hear from you.   I will post it again, when it is finished.  Thank you for reading!
