Contemporary Abstract Original Painting, "Prelude" Original Art by Elizabeth Chapman

Acrylic 35" x 60" x 1.5" canvas

Thank you Ava!

Believe.... there is an excitement as I begin a new painting in believing that this is going to be a work of art and that it is going to be loved and make it's way to someone's home.  Of course, unless it's a commissioned piece I really don't know this for is a walk of faith.  The Lord watches over us and I believe smiles and is pleased in the work that we do....whatever that might be....when we are placing our trust in Him.   I began this journey working as an artist four years ago and through it there have been days of doubts, fear, frustrations, etc., that is when my eyes are turned to a verse that has hung on my studio wall from the start.  For you see it's not in the end product or the success achieved at the end of the day, but the attitude that we have as we begin a work.

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubabel's hand.  Zechariah 4:10

To see the way beginning a person could go back to the first days of this blog.  and one of the first large abstracts.

So glad you included the links to the beginnings of following your heart, an inspiring step. You've created so many stunning pieces and found successes, it's an encouragement to me to just hear your story :-)
