If you have just happened upon my blog, this is the third painting in my figurative abstract category, the pool side series.  This one is of our daughter, Emma as a toddler playing in the backyard pool.  Gouache is a medium a lot like watercolors only opaque giving more of a flat appearance.  This type of painting would be matted and framed under glass for protection from the elements.

This morning I was reading a blog, that I found inspiring for cleaning out all that studio clutter.   If your an artist you know exactly what I'm talking about.  It's a lot like cleaning out a closet.  I have to work myself into the right mood, because I have a tendency to think to myself "oh, I'll use that one day or never know when I might need that" etc.,   So, if your like me and need that inspiration read this blog.
