"May Day"... May 1st is a day to celebrate the Spring season and what better way to begin the festivities than with flowers. This floral abstract was inspired and painted from a bouquet of Peonies that I set up in a blue vase in my studio, my favorite way to paint the florals. "Spring Bouquet" was entirely painted with a palette knife in a gesturally style capturing the life of these gorgeous spring flowers. (click on image to see a close up of this knife work)
A wonderful Mother's Day present!!

Your color sense is amazing and I am happy to have found your blog.
You move from total
non-representation to abstract so easily. I really admire that.
Julie, thank you for your kind comment!
