"Asleep"..... Modern Contemporary Expressionistic Abstract Painting by Elizabeth Chapman

Acrylic on 5" x 7" canvas panel
"Asleep" can be purchased from my web gallery by clicking here.

Snowed again last night!  Looking out the window at the bare white covered trees that seem to be asleep makes me think about times of healing and restoration.  As they are resting now, in another month or so.... they will begin to bud and bloom again.... bright and beautiful!  There is also a beauty to be found during this time of the season knowing that this is the way nature works.  Knowing that beneath the snow on the leafless trees there are buds ready to emerge when the time is right.  Realize that when things are not going like we think they should... still they are going..... For everything there is a season...

“Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it.” -Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

I have been so inspired by your mother daughter art making. My daughter and I have a shared blog as she is quite young still. Thanks for the spirit and imagination and example of encouragement.
