Watercolor Withdrawals!

Image size: 6 1/2" x 8 1/2"

I painted on another small abstract painting this morning amidst all of the interruptions. I'm not sure if it's finished yet so I will post it later. Yesterday,(after much resistance) was my first day to make the switch and work with the abstracts for awhile. I found it interesting that from time to time I just wanted to get my watercolor palette back out. Watercolor withdrawals?! I did fight the urge, and only gave in once! So, I went and cut some paper, and did a drawing in preparation for a painting. This is one that I completed recently. I miss the watercolors.

Orchids again! Beautiful! I love this one, and I think that it may be my favorite so far... and perhaps part of that is because it's watercolor. I have never, ever been good at watercolor and am always so smitten with the lovely watercolor paintings that I see others able to create. It feels good to appreciate such a talent! :")
Abstracts, realistic, watercolor, whatever you do, you seem to do well!

Yes, I love orchids! We only have one plant though, but I love that they keep their blooms for months. I've heard this comment from many people, but watercolors are really easier than most people think. I think their are a few techniques that are important to learn, but then after that it's matter of going with the flow, patience, and not overdoing it. Thanks again for taking the time to send such kind words.
