A Mess!

A Mess!
Well, I haven't blogged for a few days because it's just been too cold to go outside, and photograph my work. We had another ice storm, but this time it didn't hit us nearly as badly as it did in northern Arkansas. We still have power! I have been keeping myself working on the abstracts. Not really sure about them yet. Maybe I just made a real big mess, but I had a lot of fun in the process!

And another one. I'll have to just let it sit around for a few days before I
make any more decisions on it. Seems like maybe too much red.

And then there is this one, which I am really liking it as it is.

And lastly, the title for this last one that I posted last week is "C maj 7." I am not at all a musician, but I did have someone leave me the comment (Titles post) that it reminded them of a keyboard. I thought that was really neat, so I consulted with my musician husband, and asked him how you would translate high key color to music. He gave me his favorite, beautiful chord.
Thank you for your comments on titles!

The first painting here reminds me of stacks of fabric just waiying for the right pattern to create a garment. I even see the edge of an old sewing machine on the far right. I really love your abstracts. Thank you for sharing.

Cindy,
Thank you for your comment. It gave me an idea for this piece! This one will be it's story!

Thank you, I love it. I too have fond memories of my mom and our fabric adventures. Someday I am going to get the courage to have a blog as well.

Your abstract paintings are BEATIFUL! I love them!! And the first one also reminds me of a sewing machine and waiting projects. :]

Hi :) I made my way here from Elsie's blog, and i just want to say how much I love your paintings!! They all look like they have a story behind them and I just want to jump right into the canvas and see what they're all about!! The pink one and the first one are my favorite :)

Hi Eliabeth, In the first one I see walls(upper left), the yellow, aqua, butterscotch, sage areas -the cobblestones smoothed over from time and wear with the two shades of red representing the blood of Christ washing over our hearts(heart towards the bottom center). The one that as "too much red"... how about a waterfront literarily set down on a vibrate sunset. The "C maj 7" (pink one right?), will you be putting the title on the piece?
The one that you really like as is...I see a two-toned sofa(cool) and a reading light. Happy happies. Joyce
