Simplicity... one of my simpler designs with what I call a Japanese style. Now and then I enjoy creating a painting that speaks with less. What is different about this one is that it has usually been with watercolors when I tend to go to a lighter side, but this was done with water downed acrylics. I began with the gesturally line drawings in graphite, painted and then pulled the lines back through with black acrylic paint and added the jewels. It is done on a heavy watercolor paper and would need to be framed. Enjoy!

A beautiful piece, really like the gestural markings in it.
And congrats again on your girls book being published! How cool is that!
Wonderful, wonderful piece. I love the asian calligraphy feel to it.
