Well, I'll have to admit that I've been in a bit of a slump lately and haven't been painting, nor posting as much.  Some call it a creative block.  It can be kind of scary in that you feel as if you've lost your desire, confidence, ideas etc... to create.  No creative flow.... oh no.   I've been thinking that maybe this isn't such a bad thing if we would just realize it for what it is.  Just as creativity needs to be nurtured in order to grow, so it needs to rest as well at times in order to grow.  Change is about to occur.  The trouble is that I forget and /or I feel like I've got to be working all the time and continue to work on pushing through and then..... so, I decided to not fight it for a bit and do some other things.

Today though.... I did get back to work!!  Yes, it was exciting- I had this photograph that I had taken at Cider Days and just loved the richness of the  colors in the reds, golds and greens in it, as well as the texture in these flowers, but wasn't sure how to approach it.  Once I began, one idea led to the next and the next, and before long it was  done.  I worked on editing to get the colors as close to the painting but couldn't quite get the reds there.  They are a bit deeper in the painting than the photo shows.   ALSO.... I began another large abstract.  yea!  I will still need to spend some time resolving it.  Good to be back!!

I LOVE this one! So much energy, and it's all done with a palette knife? I must try the palette knife; it's so different. Really captured the energy and vibrancy of these flowers.
