Painting with Phthylo Blue again, told you I love this color! I am so very much inspired by music when I am creating a piece.  Listening to music by the "Wisherkeepers" here, over and over and over. Once I begin a painting with a particular style of music I will use that same sound each time I work on that painting.  I have not listed this one yet on any of my sites yet, but my website.  My preferred method of selling is to be contacted directed, but I can understand feeling more secure in purchasing from another party. In time I will have it listed and you can link on the sites listed on the right side bar of this blog.

This one sold on it's first listed day. Amazing. Fresh off the easel and gone.  I'm working here with a color that I absolutely love to mix. It's the sweet potato of paints. So what's that got to do with painting. Well, if I were asked to pick only one food to survive on, it would be the sweet potato.  why? because it is packed full of every vitamin. Well, if I had to pick one color to survive on as a painter, it would be phthalo blue. (ok, would also need yellow and white for mixing) Every variation of green and blue from the darkest to the lightest, seen in this painting was mixed using that one color. It's perfect.

One more. I think. This is the last one just completed from a series I've done over the last month. Scroll down to see the others. There's a lot of paint on those mountains! They weren't easy. I really kinda hate that I'm done with these, as I was developing a rhythm.  Beginning with a sketch, then going to the background and back into the figures. For the next session, I begin with the figures going into the background. Lastly, I work back and forth merging, working with soft/hard edges. Somewhere there towards the end I push myself to work with out the photograph as I'm needing to remember that this is a figurative abstract  and not a realistic painting.

This painting was done as a commission for Elise Cripe.  Two years ago I did one for her first born, Ellerie  and her together. This one is Elise and her second born, Piper.  The paintings "Mother's Love" and "More Love" are being paired up and displayed in her home together.  Working on a couple more this week and an order next week.  Seems like once started...they just keep coming!
